My initial approach toward making Shea Butter based products came from a desire to help my young niece Ava. She suffered from a skin condition known as eczema at the early age of two months. Her case was severe which caused her irritation of the skin, and created extreme discomfort with cracking of her skin, and bleeding. Seeing her struggle caused me much heartache, and drove me toward a search to find relief for her. After some research, and testing of the information I compiled about skin care, I found a combination of ingredients that helped with her condition. The feeling I got from helping my niece ignited a passion within me to also help others. I would hand craft my products and distribute them as gifts to my loved ones, friends, and eventually coworkers. All of them had favorable responses to the product. As more talk circulated about their pleasure with my products, inquiries of purchase began and I realized a demand for a market. Thereafter, I decided after many suggestions to form Muhasa. The name was a nickname given to me by my cousin, the late David Kettles A.K.A Haneef and I use it as a way to acknowledge him and our closeness during our youth through our adult years.
